KIRO 7's Essex Porter discusses the Supreme Court's decision not to review a 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruling that upheld a Washington state regulation requiring pharmacies to dispense emergency contraception (EC).
Porter speaks with Janet Chung of Legal Voice, who worked on the case. Discussing how the ruling affects women's access to EC, Cho explains, "What this rule means is that pharmacies are required to dispense lawful medications to all patients, regardless of individual pharmacists’ [personal objections]" (Essex, KIRO 7, 6/28).
